Founded in 1986, American Mussel Harvesters has grown to become one of the largest producers of mussels in North America. Expanding on its shellfish offerings, the company has also made clam and oyster products available to customers. Through the years, American Mussel Harvesters has formed strategic alliances with independent shellfish farmers. The shellfish are grown without the use of artificial diets, antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides.

American Mussel Harvesters prides itself on providing sustainable shellfish that have been farmed and harvested utilizing husbandry techniques that are ecologically sensitive and improves water quality. The company also strives to have its facilities be sustainable too. The company's processing plant has reduced its freshwater consumption by 75% and wash water from stations are recirculated for reuse. American Mussels Harvesters will continue to focus on farming, harvesting and operational practices that are sustainable.

In addition, the company specializes in Restaurant Ready® live shellfish. The shellfish in this line are grown in remote locations and brought to market after following a stringent post-harvest quality control process developed by the company. As the shellfish are harvested and immediately brought to a processing facility for distribution, this brand offers fresh, flavorful mussels, oysters, and clams.
