Small Scales Seafood is a Community Supported Fishery and wholesaler providing fresh Alaskan caught seafood to discerning customers nationwide since 2007.

Founded by Kyle Lints, a third generation Alaskan, and his wife Emily, Small Scales Seafood has been committed from the start to the preservation and sustainability of Bristol Bay, Cook Inlet, and Kachemak Bay's fisheries and community. Aboard their fishing vessel the F/V Northland, salmon are caught with a drift gillnet, promptly bled, chilled, deboned, and flash frozen to ensure the freshest product possible. Similar attention to quality and detail is taken with their halibut, rockfish, and cod which is caught by skiff in the beautiful waters of Kachemak Bay, pulled in by hand on longline gear, dressed at sea and promptly iced, filleted, skinned, deboned, portioned, and vacuum packed for resale.

In addition to selling their seafood via traditional outlets, Small Scales Seafood also offers the unique opportunity to purchase salmon, rockfish, cod, and halibut shares, similar in structure to agricultural CSA’s. By buying a salmon or halibut share, customers are able to directly support local fishermen and women, and to also buffer their business for years when salmon prices drop at the cannery, or when salmon runs are low. Furthering their commitment to the success of the local fishing economy, Small Scales Seafood also donates 1% of all of their profits to organizations that promote the health and sustainability of local fisheries.
