Tropic Sri Lanka
✕Established in 1984, Tropic Sri Lanka was Sri Lanka’s first standardized seafood processing facility, pioneering production for the country's renowned yellowfin tuna industry. The company is proud to provide customers with Sri Lankan-caught seafood and it has won national awards such as “Best Exporter of Seafood products”, “Global Commerce Excellence”, “Highest Value-Added exporter (Fish and Fishery Product Sector)" multiple years in a row. Tropic Sri Lanka offers both fresh and frozen seafood such as sashimi grade fish and steaks, along with a number of value-added products such as burgers, fish fingers, and poke cubes.
In 2018, Tropic Sri Lanka launched the country's first Fishery Conservation Project (FCP). The Tropic Sri Lanka's yellowfin tuna project won the Sustainable Fishing Technology Award by Friend of the Sea, a leading international organization for seafood sustainability. As part of the conservation project for yellowfin tuna, the company is aiming to improve recruiting rates of the species with the aid of assisted reproductive technology. Tropic Sri Lanka's yellowfin tuna and swordfish products are also sourced from Friend of the Sea-certified fisheries.
All Tropic Sri Lanka's products can be traced to the fish harvested and point of catch from logbooks, vessel monitoring systems, and vessel registration. Using the latest technology from around the world, the company can ensure that each seafood product is fit enough for customers, from harvest to processing and from packaging to shipping. The company also has the following food and food safety certifications: IFS, HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRC, ISO 22000. Tropic Sri Lanka wishes for its products to remain synonymous with high-quality seafood for its customers.
