Founded in 2015, Monterey Bay Seaweeds is a small, family-owned aquaculture farm operating out of Moss Landing, California. Owned by Mike Graham, a phycologist (seaweed biologist) at California State University, along with his wife Erica, a chef and restaurateur, their combined passion for the ocean and food inspired them to open a sustainable seaweed farm, bringing an incredibly delicious, and environmentally friendly product direct from their farm to their customers' tables.

The farm, located on the western edge of the Salinas Valley, is operated by Mike, Erica, and the rest of their family, and it is there that they grow a wide variety of seaweeds in tanks filled with seawater. Farmed using only seawater and sunshine, their seaweed is tumbled through carefully monitored recirculating cold-water tanks, and then hand harvested fresh to order. The products are then packed in sterilized seawater and sent directly to their chef clientele, ready to be used in salads, soups, main dishes, desserts, and even cocktails. Monterey Bay Seaweeds focuses solely on sustainable techniques for seaweed farming, and are the only seaweed farm operating in California, producing live, local, raw, and fresh seaweeds for buyers.
