Nordic Catch was founded in 2016 with a mission to provide the highest quality Icelandic seafood to restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area. By establishing itself as an exclusive Los Angeles distributor for several fisheries in Iceland, Nordic Catch is able to fly in hundreds of pounds of fresh, wild-caught seafood on a weekly basis. These Icelandic fisheries are certified and approved by the MSC and FDA. These fisheries are also certified and approved by Iceland Responsible Fishing (IRF). Iceland's government has some of the strictest policies around the seafood industry to ensure the best quality and sustainability practices in the world.

Nordic Catch can pre-buy the catch of these Icelandic fisheries prior to the fish arriving to shore. Since the catch is preallocated to Nordic Catch before being caught, boats are essentially fishing to order. The fish is then sent to be processed and packaged the same day. By capitalizing on new airline routes, Nordic Catch is able to guarantee restaurants customers that their seafood was fished in the North Atlantic less than 36 hours from the time of delivery.

The restaurant industry continues to boom in Los Angeles and drives consumers to demand higher quality food at affordable prices. Nordic Catch hopes to further narrow this gap and gives restaurants the opportunity to offer unique items on their menu. Nordic Catch can provide Icelandic seafood such as cod, haddock, and redfish. The company also offers salmon and Arctic char, which are ocean farmed in the waters off of Iceland. Both of these products meet the high standards of quality and freshness for ocean farming. In addition, the company can supply specialty seafood items such as monkfish, cod cheek, and cod tongue.
